Hello and welcome to Creative Nerds. In this Photoshop tutorial, we’ll share how to create a fire text effect. Let’s start by making the canvas black using the paint bucket tool. Then, we’ll use the type tool to write ‘nerds’ in the middle of the canvas, changing the text color to white. We’ll increase the font size to fill most of the canvas and ensure the text is spaced out by changing the pixels to 100 in the properties.
Next, we’ll create marquee lines by right-clicking and selecting ‘command’ on the text layer. Using the lasso tool, we’ll create a new layer, right-click on our dotted selection, and choose ‘make work path’. In the dialog box that appears, we’ll set the tolerance to 2.0.
We’ll then go to ‘filter’, ‘render’, and select ‘flame’. In the flame dialog box, we’ll change the flame type to ‘multiple flames one direction’, increase the length to 99, and the width to 20. We’ll keep the angle at zero and the interval at 10, select the quality to be medium, and click ‘OK’.
Finally, we’ll drag our fire text layer down, change our text layer to black, reduce the opacity to 80%, and set the blend mode to ‘multiply’.
And there you have it – a quick way to create a realistic fire text effect in Photoshop. Thanks for watching, and stay tuned to Creative Nerds for more Photoshop tips.
