In today’s Illustrator tutorial, we’ll be showing you how you can create a unique long shadow, style text effects using Illustrator. So, we wanna start off by selecting the type tool, and we’re just gonna type out some texts in the middle of our canvas. We’re gonna type out creative nerds and tutorials as the third line. And we’re just gonna change that text to become white. Perfect. And I’m just gonna select the text, center it into the middle of our canvas. From there we’re gonna select Object, Expand.

Select Okay. We’re just gonna add a stroke to our text, a black stroke of one pixel, and then simply just going to copy our text, and then Control V to paste, or Command V for a Mac. And what we’re simply gonna do is just slightly just drag it down ever so slightly. We don’t want it to touch the text underneath.

So, that’s perfect. And then what we’re gonna do from there, we’re gonna right-click and select Arrange, Send to Back. And then we’re gonna change the foreground color to become black, so it matches the same color as the canvas. And then we’re simply gonna select both of those layers, head over to Objects, select Blend Options, and we’re gonna change it to become Specified Steps. And we want it to be 52. And then we’re gonna select Ok. And then we’re gonna head back over to Objects. Select Blend, Make. And there you go.

We’ve created this unique 3D long shadow-style text effect in a matter of minutes. Hope it’s a useful tutorial and one that you can use in your own design projects in the future. Thanks for watching, and stay tuned to Creative Nerds for further quick tips on how to use Illustrator.
