Hello, and welcome to Creative Nerds. In this short Illustrator tutorial, we’ll be sharing with you how you can recolor artwork within Illustrator in a matter of seconds. So this is a very useful technique when working throughout Illustrator. So what we wanna do is we wanna start off by selecting the objects that we want to recolor.
And then we’re gonna head over to the Recolor tool here and select Recolor Artwork. And then this will bring up a dialog box. Will give us the ability to change the colors. For the change of colors, all we simply do is just drag this dial around, and we can change the color tone. Say, for instance, we could change it to a nice pink or a blue if you wanted to.
And then, bringing in the color dial in. It will saturate the colors a little bit more. So if you wanna go for, like, a lighter color, just bring the colors a little bit more in to saturate the colors. So we’re just going to go for, like, a nice purple. I think that looks really good.
And what we can even do, if we wanted to, we can change the color by double-clicking on it, and we can add in our own specific hexadecimal code. And that will recreate any color that contains that tone of purple with a different color.
Once we’re happy with the results…that’s okay. And there you go. We’ve changed the color tone within Illustrator in a matter of seconds. This is a great tutorial for recoloring artwork in Illustrator. Thanks for watching, and stay tuned to Creative Nerds for quick tips on how to use Illustrator.
