  1. WOW… this is a great selection of good designs, quite often i look for tutorials and their design is just terrible. I would actually consider having a go at these.

  2. “The Making of Abe” is great but the collection should have stopped at 23!! That penguin looks awful!!

  3. This will come in very handy. It’s odd, but I was thinking the other day that I needed a tutorial for creating characters in illustrator for a project that I have in mind. And then low and behold, along comes your post in my RSS feed. Wonderfully synchronistic…

  4. Absolutely cool!

So what’s the difference between a Cute something and a Monster something??

(The cute Panda makes me pee … in a brilliant way though, haha).

  5. Why are there no Inkscape tutorials? I know they’re hard to find, but there are a lot of people who can’t afford AI, and people, like me for instance, who find it extremely cumbersome to work in. Besides that – most of these tuts are good! :) I would really like to see some Inkscape tuts in the future

My latest vector illustration is all Inkscape, and I think it can compete with a lot of these tutorials.

  6. Thanks heaps for posting this. It is really inspiring. I tried illustrating a mascot design for a project of mine and couldn’t seem to get it right. In the end I decided on getting some professional help. The designers at managed to realize my vision of illustrating a character design that was above expectations. I highly recommend them. For the price I paid it was indeed a steal. I guess I am not good at designing at all. Anyway, thanks for providing a source of inspiration I might add. This site rocks big time…
