Create a to-do list
If you don’t plan then prepare to fail. You need to give your day structure, by creating a list of tasks which need to be completed by the duration of that day. A to-do list also serves a great method for assessing whether the day was productive or not, by checking if you accomplished all tasks you aspired to complete for that specific day on your to-do list.
Schedule breaks
Scheduling several break periods throughout the day is certainly not counter intuitive. You should aim to work short bursts, with several break intervals in between. It’s impossible to spend a long period of time working productively, without sufficient rest.
Avoid multitasking
You should avoid multitasking. Trying to complete multiple tasks at once can be become a serious mind cluster. Research has shown over the years multitasking is not the key to open the door to productivity, focusing on one task at a time is essential.
Minimalist workspace
Having an minimalist workspace is certainly something which I swear by. A minimalist workspace will help you to work more productively, because the less cluttered your desk the less cluttered your mind. Its a lot easier to stay focused, when there is less distractions surrounding you.
Work offline
If possible, avoid the internet like the plague. The internet serves as one of the biggest productivity time leeches. There’s so many distraction, which you are faced with facebook, emails, sports news etc. Sometimes the best solution to increase productivity is to do the majority of you work offline, if the task you’re undergoing is not reliant upon the internet.
